Contact laxative, highly effective and non-absorbable through the intestinal wall. It is indicated for the treatment of acute or chronic constipation in patients of all ages; do not administer to children under 4 years of age. It can be used long-term for constipation caused by dietary changes or dietary modifications. As a laxative in preoperative and postoperative management, during pregnancy, postpartum, in geriatrics, and in patients undergoing radiological and endoscopic studies requiring the elimination of shadows from fecal matter or gas, in proctologic surgery, and in all patients requiring reduced straining, such as those with myocardial infarction, heart or respiratory failure, hernias, or high blood pressure
